About

Hi, I'm Madi.

I'm a published writer and type poet street performer. "Pick a topic, get a poem" is a personal catchphrase I wear on the streets of New Orleans to intice people into creative conversation. Usually, they show me pictures of their pets and pay me to write poems about them.

But get on to the paper. I started making paper in 2020 and have been hooked ever since. It started as an environmentalist plea to reduce waste--to just keep having new pages to write on instead of buying journals and notebooks nonstop.

Now I do it just because I find it incredibly relaxing and beautiful. It's still a way of connecting with nature, but differently than I expected. It's less to save resources from waste, though I do still write and type on what I make all the time, and more to showcase and use the natural world's grace by encasing it in pulp and making art with it.

This page will feature only 5 products at a time. I can't tell you what they'll be aside from different types of handmade paper. One will be an ongoing poetry commission page where you give me a topic and I will type a poem about it using my old Royal Typewriter on my very own handmade paper.

That's all, ta ta,

-Madi
